Papers include letters from George Flagg at Charleston, S.C. to Ray and Mary M.F. Greene in Greenwich and Warwick, Rhode Island concerning family life, business concerns in Charleston, shipments of potatoes, a "great" fire in Charleston ca. 1798, specifications for the assembly of window shutters and sashes, and other matters. Charleston, South Carolina painter and glazier and South Carolina state representative. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Flagg was in Charleston by the mid-1760s. He owned property in Charleston and in St. James Goose Creek Parish and served as a city official in Charleston in many capacities including firemaster (1784, 1788).
